Slack valued at $3.8B after latest financing round

Slack had a good day on Friday.

The workplace messaging app said it raised $200 million in its latest financing round and now has a post-money valuation of $3.8 billion. The company was valued at $2.8 billion after last year's round, and at $1.1 billion in October 2014.

The latest financing round was led by Thrive Capital, a venture capital firm based in New York City.

As of Friday, Slack has 2.7 million daily active users, 800,000 of which are paid users.

Some of the firm's customers include Samsung, Urban Outfitters, NASA, LinkedIn and CNBC.

The firm also ranked No. 9 on CNBC's 2015 Disruptor 50 list.
