Philadelphia Airport reopens after two emergency landings

The Philadelphia International Airport reopened for traffic Friday after the Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop when two aircraft made emergency landings, local reports said.

The first plane was having steering problems, while the second plane reported smoke in the cockpit, according to local reports.

Passengers were evacuated immediately following the plane landings.

Traffic delays were expected as arrivals and departures will resume with only one runway operational.
