The second generation IntelliSafe™ switchgear is user-customizable, smart arc-resistant medium-voltage switchgear designed to enable a new level of safety for companies in the petroleum, power generation and other process industries. IntelliSafe™ incorporates patent pending safety features, 100 percent PIP specification compliance, and industrial internet of things capabilities.

IntelliSafe™ is part of the M&I Electric turnkey power delivery solutions portfolio which includes custom-designed MV and LV traditional switchgear, Power Distribution Centers (PDCs), power conversion equipment, automation and control solutions, construction and E&I services.

"We are pleased to have been selected as a category finalist for the CSE 2016 Product of the Year competition," said Troy Coker, Vice President North American Sales. "IntelliSafe™ was designed with the vision that “safety is not an option”, assuring that the safety of plant operations personnel should not be discretionary. We are encouraged by the industry recognition we have received and look forward to helping more companies in the petroleum, power generation and industrial segments maximize the safety of the work environment for their electrical maintenance and other personnel.”

IntelliSafe™ allows complete automation of the operation of the switchgear and provides real-time monitoring of key data points that can be used to notify plant personnel of potential hazards. This functionality and key safety features are part of the base design of the switchgear, not optional features that are often overlooked during the typical capital project design process.
