National Defense Energy & Environmental Alliance, LLC, a Joint Venture between Concurrent Technologies Corporation and Battelle, Named One of Four Awardees on $122.5 Million National Defense Center for Energy and Environment Contract

ABERDEEN, Md., May 5, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) and Battelle Memorial Institute (Battelle) announced today that their joint venture, National Defense Energy & Environmental Alliance, LLC (E2A), has been named an awardee on a $122.5 million contract to support the National Defense Center for Energy and Environment (NDCEE). This multiple award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract allows for firm-fixed-price and cost plus fixed fee task orders.

"CTC and Battelle formed the E2A joint venture for the purpose of providing the best possible business and technical support to the NDCEE," said Edward J. Sheehan, Jr., CTC President & Chief Executive Officer. "CTC has spent more than 25 years as the operator of the NDCEE, and we are pleased to continue to provide the latest technologies and mission-driven solutions that allow the United States to maintain readiness, meet sustainability goals, and support warfighters at home and abroad."

The NDCEE was established with the directive to serve as a national leadership organization to address high-priority environmental, safety, occupational health, and energy requirements for the Department of Defense (DoD), other federal government organizations, and the industrial community. E2A will demonstrate, validate, and transition technologies to address these needs and assist DoD installations, ranges, weapon systems, and the warfighter with achieving performance advantages, enhancing efficiency and cost effectiveness, and complying with regulations.

"We are delighted to join with Concurrent Technologies Corporation to create this new joint venture," said Mike Janus, Vice President of Battelle's Infrastructure and Environment business. "By combining the strengths of both organizations, we are well-positioned to advance the mission of the National Defense Center for Energy and Environment and are eager to begin the work."

The Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy, and Environment is the Executive Agent of the NDCEE. DoD-wide participation in NDCEE program development has achieved such benefits as skillfully addressing DoD priorities and challenges, leveraging resources, transferring tools and technologies, and providing measurable benefits.
