Top stocks of the week and how to trade them

Best in the Dow: Microsoft (MSFT), up 3 percent this week Source: FactSet Shares of the software giant led the Dow this week as value seekers believed its poor earnings report from three weeks ago is thoroughly priced into the stock. So far this year, Microsoft 's stock is off by 7 percent compared with a positive return of 1 percent for the S & P 500. On Tuesday however, the stock bounced back above its 200-day moving average, a bullish signal that led options trader Jon Najarian to add some shares as "buyers are playing catch-up." Best in the S & P 500: Electronic Arts (EA), up 18 percent this week Source: FactSet Shares of the video game developer rose to the highest level this year after the company reported better-than-expected earnings. On the back of strong results, Jefferies analyst Brian Pitz reiterated a "buy" rating on the stock, particularly in anticipation of the upcoming release of the latest installment of the video game "Battlefield . " "Battlefield's trailer saw 21 million views in 4 days and may be the most-liked trailer ever on YouTube — bullish leading indicators. We continue to believe EA is poised to benefit from numerous multi-year tailwinds including fast sales of consoles and ever more direct-to-consumer digital downloads, which drive improved profitability." The analyst has a 12-month target price of $105 on EA , representing a 40 percent advance from where the stock currently trades. Shares of the semiconductor maker hit an all-time high on Friday after the company beat on earnings and revenue figures. Despite the solid report, Brean Capital analyst Mike Burton believes the stock may already be fully valued. "We remain on the sidelines at current levels as NVDA is trading near its peak earnings multiple from the last two years," he said. Burton has a "hold" rating on Nvidia and predicts the shares will remain range bound between $35 and $40, about where the stock currently trades. — CNBC's Michael Bloom contributed to this story.
