Smithfield and BBQ Pitmaster Moe Cason “Grilling for a Cure” to Benefit Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

SMITHFIELD, Va., May 17, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Smithfield has teamed up with Ponderosa Barbecue founder and celebrity BBQ pitmaster Moe Cason for an event to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Grilling for a Cure will be held on Saturday, May 21st from 7:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at the Bentonville Square located in Downtown Bentonville, AR.

Cason will be onsite smoking Smithfield bone-in pork butts, demonstrating some of his award-winning BBQ cooking tips, and serving pulled pork sandwiches flavored with his very own BBQ sauces including Original and Raspberry Chipotle. BBQ butts cooked onsite by Cason will be available for sale, along with BBQ sandwiches and cold drinks.

“Cystic fibrosis is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects an estimated 30,000 children and adults in the United States,” said Cason. “I am thrilled to partner with Smithfield to help raise awareness and funds to support this important cause.”
