Scientology Volunteer Ministers Florida Reach Out With How to Help Campaign

CLEARWATER, Fla., May 19, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Every Tuesday and Sunday from 7:45 pm to 8:30 pm, The Scientology Volunteer Ministers of Florida holds “How to Help” seminars for the community in their new center in downtown Clearwater, 101 North Fort Harrison Avenue.

“We recognize that many people will gladly help their neighbors in times of need but just don’t know how,” said Mrs. Glendy Goodsell, the Executive Director of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Florida.

The seminars highlight each of the nineteen chapters of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Handbook by L. Ron Hubbard which cover step by step directions on topics like: The Technology of Study; Answers to Drugs; Children; Marriage and Tools for the Workplace.

“With an understanding of these topics, a person can work with their neighbors, friends and business contacts to resolve everyday life problems,” Goodsell continued.

The Center also hosts other events for the community.

For example, on May 5th, the Volunteer Ministers celebrated the National Day of Prayer with a number of other religious leaders, from Christians to Muslims to Scientologists. The National Day of Prayer is observed annually in May when the whole nation is asked "to turn to God in prayer and meditation". To underscore this, each year since its inception, the President has signed a proclamation, encouraging all Americans to pray on this day. The guests discussed the need to defend religious freedom for all faiths.

To emphasize this, Mrs. Goodsell, read a quote from the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Handbook, “Probably the most critical point of attack on a culture is its religious experience. Where one can destroy or undermine religious institutions then the entire fabric of the society can be quickly subverted or brought to ruin.”
