Verizon to bid $3B for Yahoo's core business in second-round offer

Verizon Communications planned to submit a second-round bid of $3 billion for Yahoo's core internet business, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing a person familiar with the matter.

Private equity firm TPG was also expected to put in a second-round offer, but Verizon was seen as the leading bidder, the news outlet wrote.
