Here's what Sterne Agee CRT analyst Peter Arment wrote in a note to clients: "We expect that any 100 aircraft order from Iran Air will be made up of at least 50 percent of the 737 program. This will help the country further build-out its intra-Iran travel between its major cities plus allow for more expansion to regional destinations. We also expect that 20-30 777-300ER orders could also be in play for this order from Iran Air. If true, it would be a major positive for the 777 classic production skyline and the BA stock." Sterne Agee CRT reiterated a buy rating on Boeing with a 12-month price target of $196, representing a 47 percent gain from Thursday's close. Best in the S & P 500: Transocean (RIG), up 16 percent this week Source: FactSet Shares of the world's largest offshore drilling company traded at the highest level since March as investors chased energy names on the back of a massive rally in oil prices. Since closing at a 13-year low on Feb. 11, oil rallied more than 85 percent, piercing the $50 a barrel mark this week for the first time since July. Joe Terranova, among the leaders in this year's CNBC's Halftime Report portfolio competition and a former veteran of the Nymex oil pits, cautioned investors excited by this monster comeback in crude not to keep betting prices will go straight up. Best in the Nasdaq 100: American Airlines (AAL), up 6 percent this week Source: FactSet Shares of the airline carrier bounced from a 52-week low after the company reported a small increase in May traffic, but analysts remained concerned about weak trends in passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM), which is expected to drop between 6 to 8 percent. Here's what Deutsche Bank analyst Michael Linenberg wrote in a note to clients in April: "We are reducing our FY 2016 EPS estimate from $5.70 to $5.55 (vs. consensus of $6.08 which was as high as $6.70 earlier this year) due to a reduced consolidated PRASM outlook over the next three quarters (goes from -4.8 percent, -2.6 percent, and -1.3 percent to -6.9 percent, -3.5 percent and -1.6 percent, respectively) and modestly higher fuel prices. The primary culprits driving the revenue weakness are: 1) competitive capacity increases in key domestic markets (primarily Dallas); 2) weak Latin America (PRASM down ~40 percent for two years in a row in Brazil and Venezuela); and 3) a strong U.S. dollar. Furthermore, while corporate demand is holding up well based on volumes, we believe they are being more than offset by lower yields. That is a trend that we think could continue for the remainder of 2016, and a potential source of downside earnings risk."
