LISLE, III., June 13, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kretschmar® Premium Meats & Cheeses has partnered with Make-A-Wish® to help grant a Texas teen’s big wish. Kelley, a 17-year-old girl fighting Cystic Fibrosis, is a giant country music fan. It came as no surprise that when wish granters from Make-A-Wish asked Kelley what her ultimate wish was, she wanted to attend the CMA Music Festival in Nashville.

Kretschmar and Make-A-Wish granted Kelley’s wish, and she experienced the country music trip of her dreams. Kelley and her family experienced four days of VIP treatment in the Music City, including an all-star concert at Nissan Stadium and a private Kretschmar Country concert at The Bell Tower in Nashville, Tenn. The performance featured three up-and-coming country music artists, Kelleigh Bannen, Natalie Stovall and Ruthie Collins.
“Kretschmar is committed to supporting the important efforts of Make-A-Wish and helping to make wishes come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions, like Kelley,” said Michael J. Sargent, Senior Brand Manager, Kretschmar Deli. “We are privileged to have the opportunity to make this unforgettable experience possible with help from Make-A-Wish.”
Kelley was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the age of 3 months, but she continues to push forward and live the life of a typical teenager. Kelley enjoys writing and listening to music, playing volleyball and spending time with friends and family.
“Kretschmar went above and beyond to ensure Kelley had a truly unforgettable wish experience,” said Kathy Forshey, vice president, corporate alliances for Make-A-Wish America. “It is because of donors and sponsors like Kretschmar that we are able to continue granting more and better wishes for wish kids nationwide.”
Since 2012, Kretschmar has contributed over $515,000 to Make-A-Wish nationally and sponsored more than twelve wishes with local chapters through its “Legendary Wishes” campaign.
Thanks to retail partners, Kretschmar has raised additional funding through sales of Make-A-Wish paper stars sold at stores' registers for $1 donations, employee donations, and sandwich fundraisers. Those efforts have raised over $75,000 which was given to local Make-A-Wish chapters to grant more wishes.
