SinfoníaRx Now Provides Access to Pharmacists’ Advice on Medication and Diabetes Through Their Partnership with Ventanilla de Salud Participants in Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz., June 16, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- “Ventanilla de Salud” (VDS) which translates to “window of health,” is a health education and resource initiative that helps people get connected with the right clinics or health information resources and preventative information for Mexican nationals who visit the Mexican consulate. The program is offered in Mexican consulates throughout the United States.

A partnership with SinfoniaRx will provide access to health information in Spanish for those individuals seeking information related to diabetes and medications.

Earlier this year, SinfoniaRx launched a new initiative clinical program called “Prescriptions with a goal - partners in your health” or “Recetas con metas - compañeros en su salud” focused on the growing Hispanic population that has reached nearly 57 million in the US. SinfoniaRx’s Spanish speaking medication therapy management (MTM) providers are internationally recognized and experts in complex and chronic disease management.

In 2015, over 4,000 Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMRs) were completed by SinfoniaRx’s Spanish MTM providers. In 2016, these numbers are anticipated to grow. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Hispanics have a higher incidence of diabetes and liver disease leading to a need for personalized MTM services.
