Cone Health contracts with Best Upon Request to provide concierge services to employees

GREENSBORO, N.C., July 13, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Imagine never having to take your car in for an oil change or do that pesky travel planning for your upcoming vacation. That dream is now a reality for employees of Cone Health in Greensboro, North Carolina. The company has partnered with Cincinnati-based Best Upon Request (BEST) to provide concierge services as a unique benefit to employees. The program is designed to reduce stress by helping employees balance the demands of their home and professional lives.

BEST is expanding on Cone Health's previous concierge program by offering errand running services such as oil changes, shopping and food deliveries in addition to traditional on-site services such as ticket sales and information research. The concierge team serves employees out of three Cone Health locations: Alamance Regional Medical Center, Annie Penn Hospital and Moses Cone Hospital.

BEST has been serving at Cone Health since January and in that time has saved hundreds of hours of time for employees. The service has been a huge hit. While Cone Health initially staffed conservatively, they are already reaching capacity and looking to add more concierges. "For me that is proof that the services are valuable and perceived as a benefit," said John Konicek, former executive director of total rewards at Cone Health. "We have been happy with the start of our new partnership and we look forward to continuing to grow this service until all our employees are fans and appreciate how we are helping make their busy lives a little easier while they are at work."

Tillie Hidalgo Lima, BEST's president/CEO said, "Concierge services are a unique benefit for employees, and an extension of Cone Health's mission of caring for their patients, employees and community. We eliminate distractions so patients and associates can focus on what matters most: healing and delivering quality care."
