Donald Trump used campaign funds to pay Barnes & Noble $55,055 for copies of his own book, a move that might be illegal if the GOP presidential nominee received royalties, The Daily Beast reports.
The website says the Trump campaign in May purchased thousands of copies of the book, "Crippled America: How to Make America Great Again" as a parting gift to attendees at the Republican National Convention.
Federal Election Commission rules say nominees must relinquish royalties on book sales because campaign funds for personal use is impermissible, the Daily Beast reported.
