Cantor Fitzgerald's Youssef Squali, one of Wall Street's top analysts, told investors Alphabet is the best match to acquire Twitter.

"While media speculation (e.g., Bloomberg) abounds about how Twitter is for sale, and how different contenders have been reportedly looking into a possible bid for the company, we focus on the one acquirer that's most likely to bid and win this valuable prize, in our view - Alphabet," Squali wrote in a note to clients Tuesday.

"We make the case for why such an acquisition would be most synergistic for Alphabet and why, if Twitter were to be sold, the latter would be most likely to submit the highest bid."

Squali's picks have a 15 percent one-year average return with a 72 percent success rate, according to analyst ranking service TipRanks, placing him in the top 1 percent of all Wall Street analysts covering any industry.
