Bob Dylan wins 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature, causes mass social media rift

Bob Dylan is the first musician to win the Nobel Prize for Literature.

The Swedish Academy honored Dylan "for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition."

The 75-year-old Dylan is the first American to win the literature prize since novelist Toni Morrison in 1993.
