Wells Fargo board will publicize results of internal investigation over unauthorized accounts

Wells Fargo's board of directors will publicize the results of an internal investigation over unauthorized accounts, according to an outside spokesman for the Board at Sard Verbinnen.

A person familiar with the matter told CNBC that the board is in its early days of the investigation, which typically take four to six months.

Asked during the bank's third quarter earnings call on Friday whether the results would be made public, CEO Tim Sloan told analysts he did not know.
