AAAPC Announces Educational Webinar for AMA Credit on the Safety of SCIT-Based Allergen-Immunotherapy

NEW YORK, Oct. 17, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Academy of Allergy and Asthma in Primary Care (AAAPC) will host a live educational webinar on Monday, October 24 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. ET about "The Safety of SCIT-Based Allergen-Immunotherapy." The webinar will be presented by allergist-immunologist Dr. Frederick Schaffer, who will discuss safe practices when it comes to subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) and related morbidity and mortality risks, as well as how to minimize these risks in patients. A question-and-answer session will immediately follow the presentation.

Attendees will gain an understanding not only of safe practices, but of safe patient selection, as well as a delineation of therapeutic-based risks in order to best assess and treat patients with allergic disorders while facilitating long term patient safety. As a result, attendees are able to fulfill AMA PRA Credits for learning patient selection, how to minimize morbidity and how to promote safety based compliance for patients on SCIT.
