No matter where they fall in the debate over opening their stores on Thanksgiving Day, one thing's for sure: The divide is making it harder for the 137.4 million Americans who plan to shop that weekend to map out their plans.
With some retailers changing their tune this year — and others sticking to their guns — CNBC has compiled a list of several of the major chains' Thanksgiving and Black Friday hours.
Hours can vary depending on the market, or if the store is located in a mall that's closed that day. As for Wal-Mart, nearly all of its stores are open 24 hours a day, so its starting time pertains to Black Friday doorbusters.
It's best to check with your local store for their exact hours.
