The "Fast Money" traders on Friday debated which stocks stood to benefit the most, as temperatures drop around the country.
Cold weather can help companies like Burlington Stores, pushing them into the top tier of expected same-store-sales-growth range when they report earnings, said Trader David Seaburg. He said that Gap and Wal-Mart are other interesting stocks in the sector, as they too may benefit from a cold winter.
Trader Tim Seymour said that when the temperature outside drops quickly, people are more likely to stay inside, which would benefit a company like Amazon.
Yet trader Steve Grasso said he's more interested in automotive retail and companies like O'Reilly Automotive, Advanced Auto Parts and Autozone. He explained that once snow hits, people need plows and other winter gear.
