Lockhart says March rate increase to get serious consideration

Firm economic data may lead the Federal Reserve to increase interest rates at its March meeting, Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank President Dennis Lockhart said on Thursday.

"I think March is live and the data are supportive of considering a move ... I would think there would be serious consideration," said Lockhart, who retires next week.
