Our partners at stock analytics firm Kensho say when the Federal Reserve hikes interest rates, certain sectors fare worse than others.
All 11 of the main sectors are down in the week following an interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve dating back to 1994.
Faring the worst, the materials sector falls by an average of 1.26 percent. The Consumer Discretionary sector drops by an average .79 percent.
The broader S&P 500 falls less than a half percent in the week after a Fed hike.
