China April services trade deficit narrows to $18.3 bln - FX regulator

BEIJING, May 31 (Reuters) - China's trade deficit in services narrowed to $18.3 billion in April from $22.1 billion in March, the foreign exchange regulator said on Wednesday.

April's deficit was largely due to a $15.5 billion gulf in spending between foreign tourists and the Chinese, who splurge more abroad than visitors in China, data from the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) showed. (Reporting by Beijing Monitoring Desk; Editing by Jacqueline Wong)
