South African Treasury says restoring confidence priority after Moody's downgrade

JOHANNESBURG, June 9 (Reuters) - South Africa's National Treasury said on Friday that "reigniting" investor confidence was its urgent priority after ratings agency Moody's downgraded the country's credit rating while retaining it in the investment grade table.

"Policy transparency and continuity remain on top of government's agenda," the Treasury said in a statement after Moody's made its announcement. (Reporting by Ed Stoddard; Editing by Chris Reese)
