Weapons maker Northrop's quarterly profit rises 6.8 percent

July 26 (Reuters) - Northrop Grumman Corp, the maker of Global Hawk surveillance planes, reported a 6.8 percent rise in quarterly profit on Wednesday, driven by strong demand for its manned aircraft.

Net earnings rose to $552 million, or $3.15 per share, in the second quarter ended June 30, from $517 million, or $2.85 per share, a year earlier.
