BEIJING, Aug 9 (Reuters) - China's consumer inflation slowed slightly to 1.4 percent in July from a year earlier, missing market expectations, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Wednesday.
The consumer price index (CPI) had been expected to rise 1.5 percent year-on-year, which was also the same rate in May and June.
The producer price index (PPI) rose 5.5 percent in July from a year earlier, the same rate as the previous two months.
Analysts polled by Reuters had also predicted July producer price inflation would be at 5.5 percent on an annual basis. (Reporting by Sue-Lin Wong and Min Zhang; Editing by Shri Navaratnam)
