CANADA STOCKS-TSX rises with resource stocks; financials weigh

TORONTO, Aug 9 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index turned slightly higher in early trade on Wednesday, as gains for gold miners and energy companies with higher commodity prices offset falls among financials.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up 21.58 points, or 0.14 percent, at 15,277.93 shortly after opening in negative territory. (Reporting by Alastair Sharp)
