NEW YORK, Aug 17 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury yields turned flat on Thursday, reversing their drop as Axios reporter Jonathan Swan, citing a source with direct knowledge, said on Twitter that a rumor that Gary Cohn, director of the National Economic Council, is resigning is "100 (percent) false."

At 10:42 a.m. (1442 GMT), the benchmark 10-year Treasury yield was 2.222 percent, down 0.7 basis point from late on Wednesday after touching a session low of 2.208 percent earlier.
