Peru posts 1.1 pct current account surplus in Q2 -central bank

LIMA, Aug 24 (Reuters) - Peru registered a current account surplus equal to 1.1 percent of gross domestic product in the second quarter, compared to a 3.8 percent deficit in the same period a year ago, the central bank said on Thursday.

The central bank said the positive reading reflected Peru's growing trade surplus amid rising copper and fishmeal exports. (Reporting By Mitra Taj; Editing by Chris Reese)
