Campbell Soup's quarterly sales dip 1.4 pct

Aug 31 (Reuters) - Campbell Soup Co reported a 1.4 percent fall in quarterly sales on Thursday, hurt by weak demand for its V8 vegetable juices, soups and snacks.

The company reported a net income of $318 million, or $1.04 per share, in the fourth quarter ended July 30, compared with a loss of $81 million, or 26 cents per share, a year earlier.

Net sales of the company, which also sells Pepperidge Farm snacks and Prego pasta sauce, fell to $1.66 billion from $1.69 billion. (Reporting by Gayathree Ganesan in Bengaluru; Editing by Shounak Dasgupta)
