Tyson Foods shuts meat plants due to Irma

CHICAGO, Sept 11 (Reuters) - Tyson Foods Inc, the biggest U.S. meat company, shut meat plants in Georgia and Florida on Monday because of Hurricane Irma, a spokesman said, reducing its output of chicken and beef products.

Tyson hopes to resume normal operations soon at the shuttered plants in Cumming, Dawson and Vienna, Georgia, and in Jacksonville, Florida, spokesman Derek Burleson said.
