CANADA STOCKS-TSX rises as financials, industrial gain

TORONTO, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index turned higher in early trade on Tuesday, led by financial and industrial stocks as Hurricane Irma appeared to have caused less damage than feared and a fertilizer merger got a green light.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up 24.32 points, or 0.16 percent, to 15,064.62 shortly after opening in the red. (Reporting by Alastair Sharp; Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
