US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-S&P closes above 2500 for first time, helped by tech

Sept 15 (Reuters) - The S&P 500 closed at a record high on Friday, hitting the 2500 level for the first time, as technology stocks bounced back after two days of declines and telecommunications shares also rose.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 64.86 points, or 0.29 percent, to 22,268.34, the S&P 500 gained 4.59 points, or 0.18 percent, to 2,500.21 and the Nasdaq Composite added 19.38 points, or 0.3 percent, to 6,448.47. (Reporting By Sinead Carew; Editing by Nick Zieminski)
