NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MediaLink, an Ascential company, today announced that Brian Offutt has been hired as Managing Director, People and Process. Offutt joins the strategic advisory firm from Combs Enterprises, where he was Chief Operating Officer. He will be based in New York and report to Michael Kassan, Chairman and CEO of MediaLink.
Offutt will oversee the company’s rapidly growing Talent Practice, which includes executive search and new emphasis on organizational design, as well as internal people programs, including staff development. He will work closely with Laurie Rosenfield, Managing Director, Executive Search.
“As with our partners and clients, our company is as strong as the talent we employ; as such, we are investing aggressively to grow both our own talent and expand the talent work we do on behalf of our clients,” said Chairman and CEO Michael Kassan. “Brian brings unique and varied expertise to MediaLink, including best in class experience and practices from global market-leaders like Viacom and Spencer Stuart; in addition, he possesses the agility required to lead operations at entrepreneurial, rapid-growth endeavors like Combs Enterprises and Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video. We are thrilled to add his impressive skills to our team as we grow our talent capabilities and nurture the industry’s most coveted people.”
In his most recent role at Combs Enterprises, Offutt oversaw the business activities across the companies and investments built and cultivated by Sean “Diddy” Combs. Previously, he was SVP of Operations for Viacom’s Nickelodeon Group and served in multiple roles while within Viacom. He also served as Chief Operating Officer of Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video Entertainment; President/COO at Interdimensions; Director in the New York office of Spencer Stuart; and SVP of Golden Books Entertainment Group. Earlier, he held corporate development roles at The New York Times and IMG and began his career at JP Morgan. He is currently Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for The LGBT Community Center of New York City and holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University.
“MediaLink is unlike any other company as it operates at the marketing crossroads of entertainment, technology, finance and media, and I’m excited to join at this pivotal moment in the company’s history,” said Offutt. “The Ascential acquisition is a tipping point for MediaLink, and the organization has a palpable energy and appetite for growth and success. I can’t wait to be part of it.”
