With over 20 years of experience, Lombardo is set to extend market penetration with existing channel partners and collaborate with national partners
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Tintri, Inc. (NASDAQ: TNTR), a leading enabler of enterprise cloud, today announced the appointment of Michael Lombardo as Vice President of Channel Sales for Americas and Federal. Lombardo brings to Tintri more than 20 years of channel leadership and will be responsible for overseeing all national account teams and channel sales.
Lombardo joins Tintri on the heels of major product releases, including the EC6000 all-flash series and Tintri Cloud Connector for integrating Tintri with AWS and IBM Cloud Object Storage. At Tintri, Lombardo will work to expand channel awareness of Tintri’s products and to engage partners through Tintri’s programs, training and cloud certifications.
With an extensive background in sales management and channels, Lombardo has led teams selling data center solutions for EMC, Cisco, NetApp and most recently Simplivity. In his role at NetApp, he recruited and grew several of their largest global resellers and teamed with Cisco to bring FlexPOD to market. While at Simplivity, he helped build a 100% channel model, drove field sales interlock on a “meet in the channel” solution with Cisco, Lenovo and Dell, and created a National Partner Program. Lombardo has a track record of pioneering new programs and pathways to market through healthy partnerships.
Tom Ellery, Senior Vice President of Americas and Federal at Tintri, commented: “Michael has a strong track record of pioneering new programs and pathways to market through healthy partnerships. Tintri is continuing to expand on its channel commitment—through training and certifications we’ve helped our partners build their cloud businesses. Now Michael, especially through his experience with national partners, will play a critical role in refining our channel strategy and driving channel sales forward.”
“As more customers look to enable enterprise cloud benefits, they need solutions like Tintri that can simplify automation and self-service,” said Michael Lombardo Vice President of Channel Sales for Americas and Federal. “Tintri’s technology is highly differentiated, and it allows partners to offer their customers uniquely high impact solutions. I am excited to join a company that is a leader in storage with a clear vision for enterprise cloud.”
