SEOUL, Oct 26 (Reuters) - South Korea's gross domestic product grew 1.4 percent on-quarter, the fastest growth in more than seven years, the central bank estimated on Thursday, as strong exports overshadowed weakness in consumption.
The quarterly rise exceeded the 0.8 percent forecast in a Reuters survey.
GDP growth for the year to September accelerated to 3.6 percent from 2.7 percent in the second quarter.
Exports jumped 6.1 percent on-quarter, while facility investment increased 0.5 percent, the estimates showed.
Construction investment rose 1.5 percent from three months earlier, while private consumption gained 0.7 percent. (Reporting by Cynthia Kim; Editing by Peter Cooney)
