SÃO PAULO, Oct. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- McCann Worldgroup today announced that Hugo Rodrigues has been named Chairman and CEO of WMcCann. He was most recently President and CEO of Publicis Brazil, an agency where he had also served as Chief Creative Officer before rising to the top position.

Rodrigues has been widely recognized, both for his leadership and for his creative work. He began his career as a copywriter in 2000, and was named VP-creative of Publicis Brazil in 2008, where he acted as Chief Creative Officer and COO prior to becoming CEO in 2014. In 2015 and 2016 he was named one of the five most admired Brazilian ad executives according to the Agency Scope survey of marketers, and in 2014 he was recognized as Brazil's Creative Professional of the Year by Caboré – an award for which he is once again a finalist in 2017, this time as Industry Lead Executive. He has won creative recognition at the major awards shows, including 17 Lions at Cannes, as well as at the Effie Awards.
