Knowledge to Practice Completes Strategic Growth Phase In Anticipation of Product Launch

BETHESDA, Md., Oct. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Laurie Cordova was appointed as Vice President of Product for Knowledge to Practice, an Ed-Tech firm contemporizing lifelong learning for physicians through competency-based, personalized, adaptive curriculums. Cordova is one of two central executive positions key to preparing Knowledge to Practice for the next phase of business. Both Vice President of Product and the newly announced VP of Strategic Partnerships, Kerry Hudson, will join the Leadership team and report directly to Chief Executive Officer, Mary Ellen Beliveau.

Cordova, as the strategic lead for new product development, will lead concept testing, business analytics and product development planning. She will guide lifecycle management of company's product portfolio, including Board Review, Essentials, and the upcoming CurrentMD. Finally, Cordova will assist in refining the company's go-to market strategy in order to optimize value and distribution.

"Our competency based, lifelong learning products are proven to be significantly more effective and efficient, easing physician burnout as they access the content that they need and trust, when they need it and how they want it," said Mary Ellen Beliveau, Chief Executive Officer, Knowledge to Practice. "Laurie's deep experience leading new product development will be integral to our efforts to bring 21st century education to today's lifelong learners, hospitals and healthcare systems."

Cordova previously served as Innovation Director, Research and Development at Hobsons, where she was responsible for the design and development of the award winning Naviance college and career readiness platform. As part of these efforts, Cordova determined opportunities for product ideas, and explored non-traditional channels and revenue streams in EdTech.

"The Vice President of Product role is a natural evolution of what I loved in my previous role," said Cordova. "Knowledge to Practice is offering the medical profession a superior method of learning and retention—one that is more flexible, intuitive and convenient. I'm thrilled to be here at this exciting time for the company as we transform lifelong learning experiences for physicians and improve patient care."

About Continuing Medical Education
The $2.65 billion dollar continuing medical education (CME) industry traditionally consisted of educational activities that disseminated didactic lectures and digitized didactic lectures. "Traditional" activities include destination conferences, publications, and audio and video recordings of conferences. However, studies demonstrate these methods are ineffective, and physicians are challenged to actively transfer such knowledge to practice. Knowledge to Practice is proficient at understanding the needs of practicing physicians, distilling the literature and emerging medicine into very practical, digestible sequences of learning that fit the lifestyle of the time starved physician.

Knowledge to Practice's approach addresses both knowledge and performance. Transforming the way academicians teach and elevating the lifelong learning experiences of physicians; Knowledge to Practice tailors personally relevant learner-centric learning. Knowledge to Practice's proprietary online system was designed to fit into physicians' demanding schedules, and to match each physician's unique practice needs. Using a self-assessment module, physicians can identify knowledge and practice gaps, stay current, and develop/maintain mastery across their core competencies.
