Black Hills misses 3Q profit forecasts

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) _ Black Hills Corp. (BKH) on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $27.7 million.

The Rapid City, South Dakota-based company said it had net income of 50 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 55 cents per share.

The energy company posted revenue of $342.1 million in the period.

Black Hills expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.30 to $3.40 per share.

Black Hills shares have decreased slightly since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed nearly 2 percent in the last 12 months.
