SOLON, Ohio (AP) _ Energy Focus Inc. (EFOI) on Wednesday reported a loss of $1.8 million in its third quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Solon, Ohio-based company said it had a loss of 15 cents. Losses, adjusted for restructuring gains, came to 17 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 20 cents per share.
The energy-efficient lighting systems designer posted revenue of $5 million in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $6.2 million.
The company's shares closed at $2.78. A year ago, they were trading at $3.24.
