GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands (AP) _ Global Indemnity PLC (GBLI) on Wednesday reported a third-quarter loss of $8.9 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The George Town, Cayman Islands-based company said it had a loss of 51 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for investment costs, were 48 cents per share.
The insurance and reinsurance holding company posted revenue of $120.1 million in the period.
Global Indemnity shares have climbed 12 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $42.87, an increase of 34 percent in the last 12 months.
