SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) _ Infinera Corp. (INFN) on Wednesday reported a loss of $37.2 million in its third quarter.
The Sunnyvale, California-based company said it had a loss of 25 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 11 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 16 cents per share.
The communications equipment maker posted revenue of $192.6 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $190.3 million.
Infinera shares have increased nearly 3 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $8.71, a rise of 10 percent in the last 12 months.
