Canada Goose beats 2Q profit forecasts

TORONTO (AP) — Canada Goose Holdings Inc. on Thursday reported fiscal second-quarter profit of $37.1 million Canadian ($29.6 million).

On a per-share basis, the Toronto-based company said it had net income of 33 cents Canadian (26 cents). Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 29 cents Canadian (23 cents) per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 16 cents per share.

The high-end coat maker posted revenue of $172.3 million Canadian ($137.5 million) in the period.
