DineEquity reports 3Q loss

GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) _ DineEquity Inc. (DIN) on Thursday reported a third-quarter loss of $451.7 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Glendale, California-based company said it had a loss of $24.98 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 91 cents per share.

The parent company of Applebee's and IHOP restaurants posted revenue of $144.7 million in the period.

DineEquity shares have declined 44 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped 45 percent in the last 12 months.
