It's never easy to be put on the spot, especially when your career depends on it. So when CEO Andy Sajnani and COO Misha Shah of app and software development company Think Latitude grilled candidates for their Marketing Manager position on baseline knowledge of the field, the results were mixed.
Shah explains that any candidate applying for the role "must actually understand the difference between Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing, and also the CRM tool, which is Customer Relationship Management."
In theory, these candidates should be able to define the commonly used acronyms SEO, SEM and CRM. Still, the pop quiz left some hopefuls saying OMG … and not in a good way. Two candidates gave textbook-perfect answers, while another offered up sheer honesty and simply answered, "No."
