Job Interview 101: Know what you're talking about

It's never easy to be put on the spot, especially when your career depends on it. So when CEO Andy Sajnani and COO Misha Shah of app and software development company Think Latitude grilled candidates for their Marketing Manager position on baseline knowledge of the field, the results were mixed.

Shah explains that any candidate applying for the role "must actually understand the difference between Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing, and also the CRM tool, which is Customer Relationship Management."

In theory, these candidates should be able to define the commonly used acronyms SEO, SEM and CRM. Still, the pop quiz left some hopefuls saying OMG … and not in a good way. Two candidates gave textbook-perfect answers, while another offered up sheer honesty and simply answered, "No."

Unfortunately, there's no way to control the questions you'll get asked in a job interview, but you can study up to try and be as prepared as possible for whatever they throw at you. Tune in to see who's heading back to the books and who's heading to a new gig.
