Express meets 3Q profit forecasts

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ Express Inc. (EXPR) on Thursday reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $6.3 million.

On a per-share basis, the Columbus, Ohio-based company said it had net income of 8 cents.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 8 cents per share.

The clothing and accessories chain posted revenue of $498.7 million in the period, beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $491.7 million.

Express expects full-year earnings in the range of 43 cents to 47 cents per share.

Express shares have decreased 14 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped 32 percent in the last 12 months.
