Barnes & Noble Education posts 2Q profit

BASKING RIDGE, N.J. (AP) _ Barnes & Noble Education Inc. (BNED) on Tuesday reported fiscal second-quarter earnings of $48.4 million.

On a per-share basis, the Basking Ridge, New Jersey-based company said it had profit of $1.03.

The operator of book stores on college campuses posted revenue of $886.9 million in the period.

Barnes & Noble Education expects full-year revenue in the range of $2.25 billion to $2.35 billion.

Barnes & Noble Education shares have declined 45 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 44 percent in the last 12 months.
