HCI Group Appoints Karin Coleman to Executive Vice President

TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 12, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- HCI Group, Inc. (NYSE:HCI), a holding company primarily engaged in homeowners insurance, with additional operations in reinsurance, real estate and information technology, today announced the appointment of Karin Coleman to Executive Vice President.

Coleman has led the company’s corporate services department since 2009. Among other responsibilities, she oversees human resources, regulatory and legislative affairs, vendor management, community relations and several select projects and business units, including a restaurant and a marina.

Prior to joining HCI, Coleman served from 2001 to 2009 as Vice President of TSIC, Inc., a not for profit organization headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. TSIC’s Take Stock in Children programs develop public-private partnerships to provide mentors, college scholarships and other resources to low-income students in Florida. Previously, she served in various capacities at Florida Progress Corporation, a Fortune 500 utility holding company headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, which was subsequently acquired by Duke Energy. Coleman holds a B.A. in International Studies from the University of South Florida and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
