ok/mf-Japan Nov exports up 16.2 pct year/year -MOF

TOKYO, Dec 18 (Reuters) - Japan's exports rose 16.2 percent in November from a year earlier, Ministry of Finance (MOF) data showed on Monday, underpinned by brisk external demand on the back of global economic recovery. The rise compared with a 14.6 percent increase expected by economists in a Reuters poll, and followed a 14.0 percent gain in October. Imports rose 17.2 percent in the year to November, versus the median estimate for an 18.0 percent increase. The trade balance came to a surplus of 113.4 billion yen ($1.0 billion), against the median estimate for a 54.9 billion yen deficit.
