China Dec imports from North Korea down 81.6 pct y/y - China customs

BEIJING, Jan 12 (Reuters) - China's December imports from North Korea slumped 81.6 percent year-on-year to $54.34 million, China's customs said on Friday.

China's exports to North Korea also declined, down 23.4 percent from a year ago to $260 million in December, Huang Songping, customs spokesman said in a briefing in Beijing.

For 2017, China's imports from North Korea fell 33 percent from a year ago to $1.72 billion, while exports to the country rose 8.3 percent to $3.34 billion. (Reporting by Yawen Chen and Beijing Monitoring Desk; Editing by Shri Navaratnam)
