Japan economy minister says watching market impact on economy

TOKYO, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Japanese Economy Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said on Tuesday he was monitoring the impact that financial market moves might have on Japan's economy.

Speaking to reporters after a cabinet meeting, Motegi said Japan's economic fundamentals were solid given an improving labor market and rising wages.

He also said he expected Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to exchange views on North Korea this week with U.S. Vice President Mike Pence. (Reporting by Stanley White Editing by Chang-Ran Kim)
